The Importance of a Photograph

To me, a photograph does more than just speak. It allows you the opportunity to time travel! It takes you to that exact moment caught in time. It captures the current emotions, actions, landscape. It documents some of the most important times of our lives.

When it comes to your big day, here is my advice to you, don't skip out on documenting it! Give yourself the opportunity to go back, to remember, to experience your day all over again. The photographer you choose is more than someone just taking your picture. They are documenting your story from the beginning to the end. They are rewriting your story in a way that you can see!

Today, I know things add up quickly. It's easy for the zeros to get behind one another, and the idea of writing the check can become daunting. The photographer is one of those things you want to have. Now, do not get me wrong, I am not saying go spend thousands of dollars. What I am saying is TO DO YOUR RESEARCH. Meet with your potential photographer, see their work, explain your vision! This is all about you (remember?)!

Let me tell you something about me, and why I believe this is so important...

Growing up I was a shy kid, I was the quite one in the classroom, a teammate on the soccer field, and hard worker. I focused on my grades, my job, and my sport. But you want to know something? I don't have a lot of pictures to remember the past by. Of course I have the memories, the stories, and my idea of what life was like at the time. This is not bad at all, but when I go to tell people of my past, sometimes I miss the pictures. It's harder to explain the pure enjoyment I had on the field, or the fun night I had with friends, or the night I found my passion in my career. Now I know not ALL moments can be captured, but when you have a good amount, remembering isn't so hard. The memories are as vivid as the day that moment the picture was taken. To me, those documented moment are the ones you only get once, so don't miss out on capturing them!

Take the pictures! Allow yourself to travel back to the magical day, and remember that this is one of the biggest, exciting and memorable chapters yet!
