Out of the Book of Wisdom

Have you ever read something and had a mind-blowing moment? It hits you in the face and you fully understand its meaning? YOU FEEL UNDERSTOOD.

Recently I was enjoying some time reading the word of God. I've been making my way through the book of Proverbs, otherwise known as the book of Wisdom. Its an easy read, full of wonderful little insights about life, marriage, money, and even event planning (I know, I was surprised!). Verse 22 made me really think about why I started Big Picture Events Management in the first place. Here is what it said:

Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisors they succeed.
-Proverbs 15:22

Could there be something more true?! Sometimes we have to let our pride down and admit that we just don't have all the answers, and we certainly can't do it all alone. Trust me, I could name a time or two (or a hundred) where I found myself trying to do accomplish something on my own, all because I thought I knew the best way, and it did not come out as planned. And if it did work out, it took stress, time, and frustration to get there. Long story short, I spent hours devoting to a project when it could have taken me 30 minutes with some good advice! Talk about a WASTE OF TIME!

I've seen this a lot in the wedding industry, specially with brides that want to do it on their own. It's not wrong, or unwise, to plan your own wedding, but it is more stressful when you have to learn all of the industry's tricks in a span of 6 months. Not to mention the mile long to do list that you have to complete, vendors to check up on, and all of the decisions that needs to be made on a deadline.

Planning your wedding should be fun and exciting, not stressful and time consuming. That's why we're here, not to take the planning away from you, but to guide you along the way and really shave some stress off your plate!

I hope this little verse can bring you comfort in knowing you're never alone, and that it is okay to ask for help.
